ORAL EXAMS

TENSOR PART: If you had 4 or 4.5 points in the "TENSOR TENTAMEN" you got U+, which means that you can improve to "G" in an oral exam. In this oral exam you will be asked 2-3 of the tensor problems (Kap 1.15 in [T]; I will NOT ask 1.14-1.16, 1.22-1.27, 1.32-1.33)* and about problems similar to the ones where you lost points in the written exam: bring your tensor exam and make sure you understand the things where you lost points in the written exam.

PDE PART: In case your "PDE TENTAMEN" is close to passing or a better mark you will be offered to improve your mark in an oral exam: this will we indicated on the paper where the results of the written exam are announced. Below I specify in more detail what you will be asked in the oral exam.

U->G (If you had "U" in the written exam and are offered to improve to "3"):  You will be asked 2 or 3 of the problems from the "kursplaneringen", Ö1-2, Ö4, Ö7-11, Ö13, marked in boldface. You get at least 15 minutes to prepare and are then asked to present and explain your solution on a black- or white board.*

3->4 (If you had a "3" in the written exam and are offered to improve to "4"):
You will be asked 2 or 3 problems from the "kursplaneringen", Ö1-2, Ö4, Ö7-17 marked in boldface. You get at least 15 minutes to prepare and are then asked to present and explain your solution on a black- or white board.*  You will be also asked questions about Chapter 1 in the course book ([KS], Kap. 1).**

4->5 (If you had a "4" in the written exam and are offered to improve to "5"): You will be asked 2 or 3 problems from the "kursplaneringen", Ö1-2, Ö4, Ö7-17,  marked in boldface. You get at least 15 minutes to prepare and are then asked to present and explain your solution on a black- or white board.* You will be also asked questions about Chapters 1  and 3 and Appendices H, S and D in the course book ([KS], Kap. 1, 3, H, S, D).**

*If you bring the hand-written solutions of all the (presentable) problems you did at home (to prepare for the exam) I will take these into considerations, and I might speed up the exam by asking you to explain some of these solutions.

**In these questions I will test that you understand the theory behind the solution of the problem you present.
