What is your overall impression of the course?

15 svarande

Very positive7 46%
Postive8 53%
Negative0 0%
Very negative0 0%

- Among the best I've taken, I believe! (Very positive)
- The course gives a good depth on how the actual calculations are made, which gives a good insight on particle physics overall. (Very positive)

How would you rate the overall difficulty of the course?

14 svarande

Very high6 42%
High8 57%
Low0 0%
Very low0 0%

- hard to say (?)
- Not impossible though. (High)
- It is not an easy course, but if you follow from the very beginning you get an understanding of the subject. (High)
- Difficult but very interesting (High)

Has there been much overlap with other courses?

15 svarande

Far too much overlap1 6%
Some overlap - mostly unnecessary0 0%
Some overlap - but useful as repetition12 80%
No overlap2 13%

- Very minor; and mostly with experimental courses. (Some overlap - but useful as repetition)
- Overlap with the relativistic quantum mechanics course. Necessary as it is not mandatory. (Some overlap - but useful as repetition)

How were the homework problems?

15 svarande

Very difficult5 33%
Difficult10 66%
Easy0 0%
Very easy0 0%

- I found some parts of the assignment very hard, not mentioned in the bibliography and with hard-to-find references. Apart from that, the level was still high but achievalble. (Very difficult)
- I used 2 course books but still had difficulties with the home works. (Very difficult)
- I expected, after the second problem being so arduous, that the third one would be simpler. It was on equal difficulty in my opinion. (Very difficult)
- They were difficult, but it is essential to learn new areas. (Difficult)
- The first one was very easy, the second one more difficult, and the third one very difficult. (Difficult)

How were the quizzes?

14 svarande

Very difficult1 7%
Difficult1 7%
Easy11 78%
Very easy1 7%

- A bit unbalanced (some of them were pretty easy and other ones quite hard) (Easy)

What is your opinion about the course-PM, homepage, and the administration of the course?

15 svarande

Very good4 26%
Good11 73%
Poor0 0%
Very poor0 0%

- Maybe a bit easier to access if it were moved to KTH Social? (Good)
- It would be nice with a list containing the quiz results that was updated after each quiz (Good)

How did you find the course literature?

14 svarande

Very good2 14%
Good7 50%
Poor5 35%
Very poor0 0%

- average (?)
- I used a combination of Griffiths and Peskin-Schroeder. (Good)
- In general I have studied both Halzen and Griffiths simultaneously and in my opinion as Sushant pointed out (I think during lecture 8 or 9) that "one should follow Halzen from now on". In my opinion it should be pointed out as a course literature as well. (Good)
- I have used several books for the course, not only Griffiths, so maybe the course literature is in fact not so good, but I do not know if there is a good solution anyways. (Good)
- Well written but did not cover everything necessary. Especially towards the end of the course. (Good)
- I usually ended up needing something else to really understand things. It is not really bad though, just a bit incomplete maybe. (Poor)
- I would have liked a more recent book, but perhaps there are none. (Poor)

How were the lectures? (Sushant Raut)

- Perhaps the best lecturer I have had! Well done (Very good)
- Great! (Very good)
- Sushant have a very good way of structuring the lectures, have good level and tempo. I find the lecture very good. (Very good)
- Sushant was a very interesting teacher! (Very good)
- The recap in particular was a nice feature. (Very good)
- Very good lecturer. Both Pedagogical and suggested ample amount of extra material. (Very good)

How were the seminars? (Stefan Clementz)

15 svarande

Very good8 53%
Good7 46%
Poor0 0%
Very poor0 0%

- Also great! (Very good)
- Sometimes the seminars weren't really in sync with the lectures; questions could appear about terms we hadn't discussed. (Very good)
- The seminars were very clear. (Very good)
- Covered everything necessary in well thought out manner. Simplified and explained well what sometimes in the literature only was explained cursively. (Very good)
- Can't tell much about the seminars since I have not attended those, but Stefan is a nice person. (Good)
- The questions could have been more interesting. (Good)

How much time did you spend preparing for a seminar on average (including reading the course literature)?

15 svarande

None1 6%
0-15 minutes1 6%
15-30 minutes3 20%
30-60 minutes3 20%
1-2 hours5 33%
More than 2 hours2 13%

- Again, not attended the seminars. (None)
- The rehearsal and discussion questions may have been given but not updated so it took more time than expected. (1-2 hours)

How much time did you spend on the homework problem sets on average?

15 svarande

< 5 hours/set0 0%
5-10 hours/set1 6%
10-25 hours/set6 40%
25-50 hours/set8 53%
> 50 hours/set0 0%

- Would have needed more though. (25-50 hours/set)
- The home assignments took some time, but still I think it is a good way of learning how to calculate particle physics in general. (25-50 hours/set)
- This is only a very rough estimate. For the last one I might well have spent over 50 hours. (25-50 hours/set)
- Quite difficult homework sets that took a lot of thinking. This, however, leads to better learning! (25-50 hours/set)

Please enter any further comments and opinions about the course:

- I enjoyed a lot the course!
- Superb!
- The course is very interesting and I think that the overall method of examining (seminars + home assignments) should be kept, but I would add Halzen also as a course literature. Maybe not all chapters, but some at the end to make it more relevant for the last parts of the lectures. Thank you for a nice course!
- The part I would have liked to know or understand more about is the group theoretical part. I do not understand the concept of generators quite fully, for example, but maybe there should be another course for this.
- The course was difficult, but I really enjoyed it!
- I felt the course was rushed; it ended early and kept a high tempo. Perhaps distribute lectures and seminars more evenly across the weeks.
